Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners

My Electrolux vacuum cleaner is losing suction. It is less than a year old. Also, it needs a filter. Where can I get it fixed in Austin, TX?

I really need professonal advice on this one. I’ve gone through three vacuums in nine months, all of which were Bissel and Dirt Devil. I can’t afford a Dyson or an Electrolux … any ideas??

I’m looking for specs on an Electrolux Prolux Heavy Duty upright vacuum. It’s at least 10 years old, probably more, I’m guessing, and I’m doing a proposal project asking for new vacuums at work. I have to compare this model to a newer model.

I have the electrolux "vitesse plus pet lover" vacuum. The vacuum has lost suction but still has suction from the hose. The brushes are not turning underneath either. I have cleaned the filters etc as the manual suggests and have made sure there is nothing tangled in the brushes. Not sure what else to try? Any suggestions much appreciated!

the old switch went bad and some fell off the connectors so i have no way of telling where to put them. There are three wires Black White and Red, its for a Electrolux Genesis model number 1572F. Also the new switch has 8 prongs making it even more difficult to wire it up without knowing. Any help would be appreciated thank you!
the owner of the vacuum is having me do this. he said he bought the switch from a singer sewing maching type place, but the switches are identical if i only knew where to place those three wires. I have tried guesing and then checking but i dont want to do that to much in fear of messing up the new switch. were on a budget so really dont have the money to take it to a shop.

which vacuum is better. I’m having a dilemma.

I hate my vacuum cleaner, its an electrolux vitesse+ pet lover. And it is useless, the hose is duct taped together because it ripped (its not stretchy) and it needs a new belt every week (I vacuum every two days) and it’s horrible to empty and spits everything out when its switched off. The insurance company will only replace it if it breaks so I need to break it and make it look like an accident or a fault, any ideas?

Also any ideas for a new vacuum? UK only please
its not wear and tear, its 12 days old.

l have new carpet and my Electrolux Cleaners gets totally blocked in the hose to the bag with fluff and is useless. Would a bagless cleaner eg Dyson or Vax be the answer?

One of the filters on our Electrolux Versatility vacuum was taken out for cleaning and misplaced. We would like to buy a new filter but cannot find one. It’s the foam filter, not the HEPA. Any ideas on where I could find one online? Or what this filter is called?

I own a Prolux Electrolux vacuum cleaner. I don’t know how old it is, it looks like a 1980s or 1990s model…it works really well, so the age is hard to determine. My mom got it at a yard sale, I think, so it’s history is a mystery.

On the top, just under the base of the handle, is a large rubber clasp, which is pulled on to reveal a deep hole. I am guessing that the hose is attached this way, I have no idea, it’s my first vacuum cleaner.

I have tried to look up the machine online, but cannot find a thing…

Is there a place I should go specifically to get the right hose for this model?

Would any vacuum hose and attachment work?

Would the same problem with this specific model occur with vacuum bags…am I going to need the specific brand of bags, or would any old vacuum bag do just as well?

I currently have a Electrolux Vitesse+ Pet Lover but its just blew up on me, i vacuum 6 times a week, we have a shorthaired dog and 2 flights of stairs, I have allergies to dust and pollen and we prefer bagless. Up to £120 please (: UK only

the motor feels hot. help

I have an Electrolux canister vacuum, purchased in 1992. I love it! The only problem is that the motor has gone out (minor issue-LOL!). I know of someone who has an antient beast (model XXX, or 30) that they are willing to give me. The only challenge may be the power requirements. I know that the older model has somewhere between 450-600 amps and the newer model around 900. Could this work, and if so could it be a fire hazard? By the way, I know NOTHING about vacuums and VERY little about electrical "stuff"–just trying to save a dime Thx!

I have lost the manual for my electrolux 406 upright cleaner. It is probably about15- 20 years old and has a soft bag. I have changed the belt once before so have some idea but if anybody has maybe a link to an online manual i would be grateful. Thank You

I have a model G and the canister pops open even after I install a new bag. Anyone know how to disable the electrolux "automatic" control its getting really annoying.
Nevermind i figured it out..How is it a saftey hazard? All it does is control how much dust goes into the bag..

I have a vacuum from the 1960’s that still works and I’m wondering what style bags to put in it? Would I use the C type for electrolux canisters?

The cord retraction mechanism won’t stay in the locked position, meaning that it retracts on its own. How can I fix it? I don’t just want to tie a knot in it to keep it out.
I’m trying to avoid having to pay for Electrolux to do the repair.

I am interested in possibly purchasing an Electrolux washer and dryer. I have heard all good things about this brand, and my parents own an Electrolux vacuum which is AWESOME, and other reviews for different appliances they sell are great. Unfortunately the washer/dryer are new products in the USA, so I am having a hard time finding customer reviews. Please do not respond if you are wanting to tell me about a different brand, as I have already researched other brand (consumer report, etc) and customer reviews from various places. I am particularly thinking of household items like washing machines, vacuum cleaners food mixers etc. The best vacuum cleaner I ever had was my first one, an Electrolux cylinder. It was mostly made from metal as apposed to the plastic that seems to make up the major part of modern cleaners. That was over 40 years ago. It might still have been going strong if it were not for my mother-in-law (bless her) using it to empty the washing machine of the water that would not drain away.
I have nothing against plastic, but if a moving part is plastic and it breaks, usually a large part of the machine has to be replaced rather than a small repair.
I still have an electric hand mixer that is about 3O years old and it has seen the coming and going of two super top of the range mixers.
Microwave ovens. I gave away my first microwave because I wanted a combination one. It is still being used but I am on my third (and last) combination one.
Interesting that a Dyson has been mentioned. My original Electrolux could pick up a coin. My Dyson will not pick up half a salted peanut.

I always thought they were just cheap garbage but are they actually any good? Do you think it’s better than Dirt Devil, Hoover, or Electrolux?
